MAPUSA: Properties worth around Rs 3 lakh were destroyed in two separate fires, in Bardez. In the first incident, fire broke out in a house at Ganga Nagar Khorlim, Mapusa on Saturday, destroying a television set, a fan, a refrigerator and utensils. Shabbir Belgaonkar, the house owner, claimed loss of Rs 1 lakh. On being informed, Fire Services rushed to the spot and put out the fire.
In the second incident, a fishing trawler anchored at Chapora Jetty caught in fire late night on Friday. Trawler owner Amrut Govekar said he suffered a loss of Rs 2.50 lakh. On being informed, Fire Services rushed to the spot, put out the fire and saved properties Rs 10 lakh.
