PANJIM: Goa Lokayukta Justice P K Misra is examining the documents submitted by advocate turned social activist Aires Rodrigues pertaining to the alleged disproportionate assets by the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
Aires had placed before the Lokayukta a copy of the documents obtained by him from the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) under the Right to Information Act pertaining to the February 20, 2017 complaint filed by Sudip Tamhankar against Sawant who was the then Chairman of Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC). Tamhankar had alleged that Sawant had acquired disproportionate assets via cheating and criminal breach of trust.
Aries on Sunday had claimed that the government has closed the disproportionate asset case filed against then Speaker and incumbent CM Dr Pramod Sawant. He stated that late Parrikar had on June 16, 2018 granted consent to close case against Sawant.
