MARGAO: Curchorem police on Monday submitted a report from the Pune hand writing experts to the Judicial Magistrate First Class at Quepem confirming that the handwriting found on newspaper cuttings found at Guardian Angel cemetery on July 10 is that of Francis Pereira.
It may be recalled that the Crosses in the cemetery were vandalised in the early hours of July 10 and while investigating the case, police had found newspaper cuttings of violent incidents and there was a handwritten phrase “anyone who hates me loves death”.
It was this handwriting that was sent for the expert opinion and the experts have confirmed that this handwriting matches those found at Francis’ residence and his vehicle too thereby confirming that it was written by him.
Curchorem police have submitted the report to the Judicial Magistrate First Class at Quepem where the matter is being tried. It may be recalled that Francis was discharged in all expect one case filed against him by the Salcete police and he has appealed against the one case where charges are framed against him.
