MARGAO: Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar on Sunday stated that the government is taking every step keeping in mind that farmers income will be doubled in the coming days.
He unfurled the national tricolour to celebrate the 75th Independence Day at Mathany Saldanha Administrative Complex, here. A pledge was also taken under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to make the country drug-free.
He said that Horticulture Corporation while procuring vegetables and fruits from the farmers of the State is taking care to see that farmers will get at least 50 per cent profit at the cost of production.
The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the various efforts of the government for the transformation of the State in this 75th year of the Independence of the country.
“One should keep in mind the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters to attain independence. The State government has handled the COVID-19 pandemic 19 effectively with the cooperation of the people and we should continue following all the protocols and work together to completely eradicate this virus,” he stated.
