PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar assured to crack down on the websites, which are promoting escort services by foreigners in Goa, thus bringing a bad name to the State.
The issue was raised on the floor of the House by Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, who sought government’s action against these website who run in contravention to the law of the land.
Quoting one of the website, Reginaldo said that it is advertised in the cyber space as if all these escorts are easily available in Goa. He pointed out that even the meeting points for these escorts are mentioned on the websites.
Parrikar responding to the issue asked the member to submit detailed information about the sites, so that the action can be initiated.
In yet another question, Parrikar assured that the home guards who have completed 15 years in their services would be recruited in Police services, without insisting for the necessary conditions for service.
The chief minister said that there is 10 per cent reservation for home guards in new police recruitments, but due to their physical constraints and also qualification, they don’t make it to the services.
“I will do away with these conditions and those home guards who have 15 years experience would be recruited in the force,” the chief minister said.
Parrikar also stated that the housing project at Colvale would get special reservation for police, along with government servants and people who are born in Goa or having their roots in the state.
