ANJUNA: The Anjuna- Caisua fishing community has vouched to attend the Bardez level CZMP presentation scheduled on Saturday at Peddem Sports Club, Mapusa at 3.30 pm.
They will be attending the presentation as per schedule and submitting their suggestions and objections in writing at the venue.
The decision was taken during an awareness meeting held at Siddeshwar Temple in Caisua.
Representing the Caisua fishing community Parvati Nagvenkar explained the dangers of this CZMP drawn by the NCSCM.
During the interaction some fishermen questioning why the village panchayat was quiet on the entire CZMP episode.
The Anjuna-Caisua Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC) explained that the awareness meeting was important as many from the fishing community were not aware of what is going on.
A member of the Anjuna-Caisua Bio-Diversity Committee, Mariano Fernandes said they have made a note of their observations and suggestions and will be submitting the same to the Environment Minister.
They will meet the minister and raise their questions and objections as to why their fishing village/community is not shown in the NCSCM maps.
It may be recalled that the Anjuna-Caisua Biodiversity Management Committee verified the map of the draft CZMP of Anjuna and pointed out several errors that need to be corrected. The BMC members visited the place from Baga-end and went up to the Chapora River on July 17.
