MAPUSA: Calangute police rescued a girl within 24 hours of her kidnapping.
Calangute police said that a 17-year-old minor girl from Calangute was kidnapped by one Sameer (Raya) Kankappa Aadhikari, presently residing at Laxminagar Assagao but a native of Bagalkot in Karnataka.
The case was reported to Calangute police on Friday midnight by the girl’s parents. Following this, the police swung into action and deputed PSI Mahesh Naik to Belgum from where he rescued the girl.
The accused has been arrested and produced before Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Mapusa, who remanded the accused in police custody for 10 days.
