Over speeding proved costly for two Bardez youth, who lost their lives in a fatal accident in the wee hours of Sunday, in the capital city.
Police said that three youth Alton Fernandes, 18, resident of Mapusa, Selwyn Fernandes, 32, Siolim and Abraham Menezes of Panjim were heading towards Panjim from Miramar after attending a party when their Honda City car GA03/C/7000 met with an accident opposite the Dempo House.
According to police the driver of the car Selwyn lost control of the car and banged a tree.
The impact of the accident was such that the entire front portion of the car was damaged and all the three had to be removed with great difficulty, police said.
While Alton died on the spot, Selwyn breathed his last in the 108 ambulance on way to the hospital.
The third occupant Abraham escaped with minor injures, they said.
