Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) on Friday announced that they will be having an alliance with like-minded groups to fight the upcoming assembly election to defeat Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Goa over a medium of instruction (MOI) issue to stop the grant to the English medium schools.
The crucial meeting was held at Cujira, Bambolim where the entire core committee members of the manch were present. Speaking to media recently, the ousted RSS Goa Chief, Subhash Velingkar, said that the manch has decided to keep the doors open to the like-minded groups. He also informed that Shiv Sena party and Goa Praja Party has already supported the manch.
It appears that it is an indirect hint to the Maharashtrawadi Gomatak Party (MGP) to break the ties with the ruling BJP in Goa as the manch has already set the deadline on September 30 for it.
Velingkar has recently gathered almost 2500 RSS and BBSM workers at a meeting after he was relieved from the RSS Goa vibhag as sanghchalak.
“We will tell the people of 35 constituencies whom to vote on October 2 and the deadline still stands with MGP to break ties with BJP,” Velingkar said.
At present Velingkar has a strength of his RSS Goa vibhag who has openly said to support BBSM movement whole heartedly without any condition; Shiv Sena party and Goa Praja party. But BBSM is now trying to mount pressure on MGP after gathering the support form like-minded groups which includes political parties.
The meeting on Friday has also approved to start the process of registration of political party and given the responsibility to advocate Hridaynath Shirodkar.
Velingkar has also said that women empowerment programmes and youth conventions will be also held in next two months by the manch. We will give women and youth leadership, he added.
“The protest and the movement will be intensified and will be taken to nooks and corners. We will reach in each and every village of Goa,” Velingkar said.
The core committee of BBSM met for the first time after RSS had relieved Velingkar from the charge, and decided to go ahead with their plan of contesting the Goa polls by forming a political outfit.
