MAPUSA: The members of the Moira Village Panchayat have moved a no-confidence motion against Sarpanch Riya Belekar.
The motion was submitted to the Block Development Office, at Mapusa, recently. The panchas namely Mahesh Satelkar, Pooja Chari, Suryakant Bhatlekar, Sadanand Raul and Oswald Cordeiro accused Riya of not taking them into confidence while transacting panchayat related business, neglecting her duties, encouraging illegal construction and misusing her power as sarpanch.
Mapusa BDO will convene a special meeting in the panchayat office to discuss the no-confidence motion against the sarpanch.
