PANJIM: The Congress took its lok jagruti campaign to St Andre constituency on Saturday organizing the Lok Jagruti Melava.
GPCC President Luizinho Faliero slammed the BJP government for the collapse the State’s economy and perpetuating inflation due to ‘faulty, anti-Goan and anti poor policies’ adopted by it. He said the tourism industry was facing the worst crisis due to the flawed policies of the government.
He said the Congress would stand with the people in their fight against the marinas and slammed the government for being negligent in ensuring a new parallel Zuari bridge which is needed and rather pushing for Marinas.
He also said that the calls for ‘ghar wapsi’ and attacks on the minorities are against the Constitution and that the government’s policies have led to ‘Sabka Ghaat Sabka Satyanash’.
In his address AICC spokesperson Tom Vadakkan slammed the government at the Centre and said that it was only furthering the interests of a few corporates by amending and weakening the UPA piloted new Land Compensation, resettlement and rehabilitation Act.
Opposition Leader Pratapsingh Rane said that BJP made tall promises and secured the mandate and for the last three years it has failed to deliver of any of their promises.
Former MLA Francis Silveira, Cumbharjua MLA Pandurang Madkaikar, Curtorim MLA Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco, GPCC Vice President Moti Dessai and other GPCC office bearers were present.
