PANJIM: Crime Branch of Goa Police on Sunday in two different raids arrested nine persons for gambling and seized over Rs 3 lakh in cash and gambling articles.
According to SP Crime, Pankaj Kumar Singh in the first raid, Crime Branch arrested five persons and recovered more than Rs 2 lakh. The raid was conducted near Maulinguem in Bicholim where accused Narayan (52 years), Vinayak (43), Iqbal (61), Akshay (27) and Ashok (62) were caught accepting gambling bids. Gambling articles and cash of Rs 2,20,360 were recovered.
The second raid was conducted near bus stop Holy Cross Chapel in Verna where accused Ashok, Vijay, Franciscoand Hugo were arrested while accepting bids. Gambling articles and cash of Rs 1,03,720 were recovered.
