Govt intervention needed!

BELGAUM, SEPT 17
The intervention of the Horticulture Corporation of Goa in regulating the supplies of vegetables and other horticultural produce from Belgaum is necessary to curb inflation caused by middlemen engaged in the vegetable trade between Belgaum and Goa.
In fact, the Horticulture Corporation of Goa has been encouraged to enter into an agreement with the Horticulture Produce Growers – Consumers Marketing Society (HOPCOM), to provide a big relief to consumers in Goa.
“We will welcome any such move from the Goan authorities,” HOPCOM Deputy Director I K Doddamani told Herald.
A couple of years ago, HOPCOM did supply vegetables to Goa, but the supplies could not be continued for long due to reasons that were not known.
