PANJIM: A complaint has been filed against Director of Fire Services Ashok Menon in connection with starting the process for recruitment of 286 employees.
In his complaint before the Chief Election Commissioner, Adv Aires Rodrigues alleged that on the eve of election code of conduct coming into force, the department held a written test to recruit staff for 286 posts.
Of these, 202 posts were for fire fighters, 17 for driver operators and 10 as watchmen operators.
Adv Rodrigues has demanded that the government be directed to declare the whole recruitment process for 286 posts as null and void and to hold a probe to determine whether the department had expedited the whole recruitment process and whether the process was stalled after the enforcement of the election code.
The complainant has requested that Election Commission examine the list of candidates who appeared for the written test on December 23, 2011 to ascertain whether the candidates called for the written test were from particular electoral constituencies.
