PANJIM: Nationalist Students Congress (NSC) has demanded that Goa University implement the Goa (Right of Citizens to Time-bound Delivery of Public Services) Act of 2013.
Citing as example the delay in declaring the results of the revaluation results of LLB students by the Goa University, NSC Goa President Ritesh Rawal said that the Act compels declaration of all types of results within 60 days from the date of application.
“The University lacks the infrastructure and that delays the declaration of the results. Our sources in the University informed us that despite the corrections being completed in time, the results are delayed as there is shortage of equipments to accumulate the data and produce the results in the computer section of the Goa University,” he stated.
“If the Goa University is not able to handle the pressure of corrections and subsequent declaration of the results for the third year students of the 5-year law degree course, then, the university should centralise the whole process and increase the human resource and the infrastructure,” he said.
“And if they unable to do that then let the same system as for the first two years whereby the college produces the results continue for the third year too and decentralise the process,” he added.
The students’ body has further demanded that the fees for charged for revaluation of papers be reduced from the existing Rs 550 per paper to Rs 150 and also the fees charged for challenge evaluation of papers be reduced from Rs 5000 to Rs 500.
