One convicted for kidnapping, abusing minor

PANJIM: The Children's Court Monday sentenced a person to four years in prison for kidnapping and abusing a juvenile girl at Sanguem in 2010.

PANJIM: The Children’s Court Monday sentenced a person to four years in prison for kidnapping and abusing a juvenile girl at Sanguem in 2010. 
Pravin Velip, then aged 25 years and a resident of Villian Bhati has been sentenced to four years imprisonment under Section 363 (kidnapping) of Indian Penal Code and three years under Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act with a fine of Rs 10,000. 
Public Prosecutor Krishna Sansgiri examined 10 witnesses including the seven-year-old victim’s parents. According to the prosecution, on March 16, 2010 the accused kidnapped the minor while she was playing with her elder sister and two brothers near the work place of their parents and allegedly raped her.
