Quellosim P’ayat writes to Alina on Kesarval project

Says local spring is a life line of the village; Urges the MLA to take steps to scrap the project

VASCO: The Quellosim Panchayat has written to the Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha regarding their proposal rejecting the Kesarval hotel project by Goa Tourism Development Corporation. The move was prompted after the GTDC Chairman Nilesh Cabral had claimed that he was unaware of the developments at the panchayat level. 
The resolution that was taken for discussion at the Quellossim Gram Sabha and was resolved by Lopinho Xavier and seconded by Caetano D’Silva. The Gram sabha has requested the MLA Alina Saldanha to take necessary action on their opposition to the project. 
The Keserval spring is a life line of Quellosim and it is a source for biodiversity and environment of the village. The Gram Sabha has also unanimously resolved that panchayat should take up work of rejuvenation of the Kesarval spring.
