MAPUSA: The Lok Sabha and by-election to the Mapusa Assembly constituency will be held on April 23 and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been placed across 42 polling booths in Mapusa on Monday.
There are a total of 29,212 voters in Mapusa who will be deciding the fate of the candidates. The EVMs kept at Peddem Indoor Stadium were collected by the respective polling officers for their respective booths. Each polling booth will have a team of eight people comprising of one presiding officer, five polling agents and two peons.
Election officials at Peddem Indoor Stadium said that two booths have been declared as sensitive in Mapusa due to the presence of the migrant vote bank in that area.
The election officials have further informed that the voters have been provided with two voter slips, white for the Lok Sabha and pink for by-polls.
