PANJIM: The Mopa Airport Police have filed an FIR against a Mandrem resident after he was allegedly found in possession of six live revolver rounds of (ammunition) in his baggage at the Manohar International Airport.
According to the police, during a security check at Manohar International Airport, the accused, Dickson D’Souza, 56, was set to travel on a private airline flight to Chennai, when he was intercepted during screening
The accused was unable to produce a valid arms licence for carrying and possessing the rounds, which were discovered in his handbag. Additionally, he failed to provide permission from the competent authority to transport the ammunition aboard the aircraft, thereby violating Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) guidelines.
An offence has been registered under Section 35(3) of the BNSS, and further investigation is underway. The case is being handled by LPSI Sashanka Parab of the Mopa Airport Police Station.
