VASCO: Gold ornaments and cash valued at Rs 4.40 lakh were burgled from a house located on the main road at New Vaddem in Vasco.
According to Vasco police, Bipin Godkar complained that burglars broke the front door latch of his house and decamped with gold and cash which was kept in the cupboard.
Police said that Bipin and his wife had gone to stay with his in-laws in Bogmalo on Wednesday night leaving their house located on the ground floor locked and when he returned home on Thursday morning, he noticed the house door was open and valuables were missing from the cupboards.
Dog squad and finger prints experts of Goa police were pressed into service. “As per the complainant, cash of Rs 40,000, one gold mangalsutra, three sets of gold earrings, a gold bracelet, three finger rings and gold chain besides other electronic items, were reported missing from the house.
Police have got some vital clue in the case as one of his neighbour had installed CCTV camera facing outside on the road and the footage shows that the suspected person/s coming out of complainant’s house at about 1.30 am. An offence under section 454 and 380 of IPC has been registered by the Vasco police, PSI Vikas Deykar is investigating.
