Dr Bhatikar said, “It is shocking that youth from across Goa appeared for the test for the nursing posts but the government without declaring the results directly appointed 90 per cent staff for posts from Sattari and Bicholim.”

He said of 37 posts, 17 candidates appointed were from Sattari while the rest were from Bicholim.

He said this type of direct appointment of staff on permanent basis is also injustice on BSc nursing staff attendants in GMC who are working for the past many years on temporary basis and even provided services during the pandemic.

He demanded that the government provide the details of the entire recruitment process and those done in past four years by GMC. He also demanded that the government also reveal how many Goans got jobs in GMC and in the Health Department.
