MARGAO: MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco on his birthday provided two harvester machines, tractors, power tillers, hearse van and ambulance in service to the people of Curtorim Constituency, on Saturday.
The birthday celebration, which was held at the Eduardo Faleiro Indoor Hall, at Raia Village Panchayat, was attended by his friends, supporters and well wishers from the constituency.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, who was the chief guest and guest of honour Pratapsingh Rane, along with the ministers of BJP government, showered their blessings on Reginaldo.
Deputy Chief Ministers Chandrakant Kavlekar, Babu Ajgaonkar, Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo, BJP MLAs Francis Silveira, Dayanand Sopte, Philip Neri Rodrigues, Wilfred D’Sa, Alina Saldanha and Opposition Leader Digambar Kamat were also present.
Dr Pramod while wishing Reginaldo said, “There is good governance in the State. He is a good critic of our government and with a good critic like him our government will run in a better manner.”
“Former government was good and the present too is,” said chief minister while adding that he has learnt a lot from Reginaldo and advised all to learn from him.
Rane said, “Reginaldo is 50 years old and I will complete 50 years in Goa Legislative Assembly in another two years. But, age is just a number but the work to uplift the people of the lowest strata of the society shouldn’t stop.”
Opposition Leader Digambar Kamat said, “Aleixo is a straight forward person and speaks his heart, but he also makes mistakes. But what makes him great is that he accepts his mistakes. On his birthday, I would also wish his wife. He is here today because she looked after his family in his absence.”
