Apropos your Open Editorial, Let us change Goa together…, I couldn’t agree with you more. We have a government in Goa that prefers to make promises but is very slow on delivery. We have slogans of ‘Ghar Wapsi’ that were not election promises but have crept in due to the tremendous pressure from the RSS. So who is ruling the country?
We have had many churches in the National Capital being desecrated and not a word of comfort from the Prime Minister. However, the Defence minister makes a statement that these things will not happen in Goa. Does that mean that it will continue in the rest of the country? We have several Catholic ministers in the State cabinet, including the deputy chief minister, but not a single one had the guts to condemn the attack. Yet all, whether Hindu, Christian or Muslim, want their children to be educated in “convent schools”.
If there is the fear of conversion to Christianity, how come the percentage of Christians in India still remains stuck at just about two percent of the population?
There is a limit to corruption and empty slogans. The BJP and the Congress have been taught a lesson in Delhi thanks to a principled Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal.
Let us in Goa too, teach both these parties that we the people cannot be taken for granted.
Promises and principles are meant to be kept and honoured, and if you cannot then you have no right to continue in power. Ghar Wapsi BJP and Congress.
