MMC to hold crucial meet

The Margao Municipal Council will hold a crucial pre-bid meet on Friday with the IL&FS-Fomento combine and Hyderabad-based Ramky Enviro Engineering Ltd, which have submitted their bids to set up a 50-ton garbage treatment plant at Sonsodo.
The meeting with the two companies is being arranged to answer all queries relating to the project. As per the schedule laid down by the Council, the companies are required to submit their commercial and financial bids on or before July 22.
Both IL&FS and Ramky have responded to the Expression of Interest invited by the Margao Civic body to set up the garbage treatment plant at Sonsodo. Based on the bids received from the two companies, a municipal team headed by Chairperson Savio Coutinho has visited the plants set up by the two companies at Delhi and Shimoga.
The Civic body is awaiting the two companies to submit their commercial and financial bids.
