CURTORIM: Virabhat Sporting Club shot-out Eclate FC 7-6 via the tie-breaker in the inaugural match and moved into the quarter-finals of the 2nd Curtorim inter-ward 9-a-side football tournament organised by Cumborda Sports Club of Curtorim, at Curtorim ground, on Monday.
Virbhat had their first chance through Floydon’s pass to Lourdes but his shot was saved by Eclate FC goalkeeper Jossy.
Joy missed an easy sitter for Eclate FC. Lourdes Fernandes gave the lead to Virabhat SC off a pass received from Wesley but the joy was short-lived as Christon equalized for Eclate SC.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Versly, Savio, Lourdes, Jovito, Ashton, Floydon and Sydney scored for Virabhat FC while Placio, Rolson, Christon, Milagres, Jauborn and Josley found the mark for Eclate FC. Josley of Eclate FC was declared as man-of-the-match.
