Only education can bring about changes in society: CM

Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat has said only education can bring about changes in the society and the world at large and underlined the need to keep Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar as the model before the younger generation.
He was speaking as the Chief guest at a function organized by the Dalit Seva Sanghatana at the Linghayat Math hall here on Sunday.
Referring to the achievements of Ambedkar after overcoming hardships in life, the Chief Minister said Ambedkar came up in life and carved a niche for himself only through education. “Through education, he came up in life. Society, nation and the community will come up only through education. India can become a super power only through education”, he said.
Saying that the young generation should emulate the qualities of Ambedkar, Kamat said the Father of Indian Constitution did not restrict himself to his own community and is being considered a national leader and is being respected by the world at large.
The Chief Minister also made an appeal to Goan artists to show case their talents and made a mark for themselves in the state.
The Chief Minister complimented social workers Avinash Shirodkar, who has bagged he Dalit Sakha Puraskar, for his contribution towards society. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also felicitated two senior journalists Sushant Kuncolienkar (Lokmat) and Mahesh Konekar (Tarun Bharat) for their contribution to the field of journalism.
