MAPUSA: The CEO of Rio Luxury Homes, Nilesh Dessai, has assured the protesters from Oxel, Siolim, that the management will not cut any further trees and will protect the iconic mango tree within its compound.

This assurance was given to villagers just a few hours after they staged a candlelight protest in Oxel, Siolim.
The CEO also assured the protesters that a written undertaking would be provided by the company to support its commitment not to cut any further trees at its Oxel multi-dwelling project, informed Goa Green Brigade convenor Avertino Miranda.
