PANJIM: After summoning Goa Congress Pradesh Committee (GPCC) Vice President Sunil Kawthankar and quizzing him for nearly two hours, the Old Goa Police on Tuesday issued a notice to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa convenor Advocate Amit Palekar asking him to be present at the police station in the fugitive Suleman (Siddiqui) Khan video matter.

Palekar has been asked to be present on December 19, at 11 am.
However, reacting to the notice on X (formerly Twitter), Palekar said, “I’m surprised the amount of hurry @Goa_Police are in probing the source of videos that despite informing the IO on call as well as on what’s app that I’m not in India till Monday next, I’m served a notice on what’s app by PSI Redkar of Old Goa PS to appear on 19/12/2024. This is how police are worried to know what else I have with me right @DGP_Goa and @spnorthgoa acting under @BJP4Goa Government HMV where spokespersons know more about investigation than both of you do!! What about SP Crime, DySP Suraj Halarnkar and MLA, why aren’t they summoned inspite of him being seen on CCTV?.”
According to Kawthankar, who shared the video with the media and the police, the pen drive containing the video was given to him by Palekar.
The pen drive was sent to Palekar anonymously, Kauthankar had claimed.

MinISTER to arrest Siddiqui
PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar has urged Karnataka Home Minister (HM) G Parameshwara to take immediate action to arrest Suleman Siddique Khan, a wanted fugitive who has escaped from Goa Crime Branch custody.
In the letter, the Goa Congress President has highlighted the grave security lapse and expressed concern over the failure of the Goa Crime Branch to prevent the escape of such a high-profile individual.
It was emphasized that Suleman Siddique Khan’s apprehension is critical to ensuring justice and arresting the accused who is involved in land grabbing racket in Goa.
“Though we are not aware of the veracity of the videos being circulated across all social media channels, considering the seriousness of the allegations made therein it is imperative that Siddique alias Suleman Khan is arrested at the earliest and brought back to Goa so as to ensure that the truth be revealed and appropriate action be taken against the persons who are involved in his escape and who have assisted him to escape from custody of CB,” he said .
