Mentally challenged brought to Azad Maidan again as NGO protests inordinate fund delay

NGO Street Providence once again brought around 30 mentally challenged individuals under their care to Azad Maidan today, protesting the government’s continued delay in releasing pending funds. A similar demonstration took place last Saturday, during which the police had assured the NGO that the issue would be resolved by Monday and escorted the individuals back to care homes. With no progress made, the NGO warned that if the matter is not addressed by this evening, they may be forced to leave the individuals at the Panaji police station.
