MARGAO: The Fatorda police have arrested Abdul Mehboob Ali Gufar, a resident of Moti Dongor, and Malik Riyaz Shaikh, a resident of Borda-Fatorda, in connection with a major theft case reported in Margao.

The complaint was lodged by Bilal Patni Javed of Botcotran Logistic Pvt. Ltd. near the Kadamba Transport Corporation bus stand. According to the complaint, the accused broke into the company’s office near Kadamba Plaza by forcing open its shutter. They allegedly stole a laptop, Rs 70,000 in cash from the counter, and damaged CCTV cameras and a DVR system installed at the office. The total loss incurred by the complainant is estimated at Rs 1.12 lakh.
In another case, Fatorda police arrested Savio Andrade, a resident of Pocol Verna, for attempting to commit theft from a car.
Jonathan Demello, 46, of Gogalim, Maina Curtorim, filed a complaint stating that Andrade allegedly forced open the front right-side door of his car near Holy Spirit Church, Fatorda.
, and attempted to steal items from the vehicle. The damage caused is estimated at Rs 5,000.
