Mine Worker’s Union Demands Permanent Jobs for Bicholim Vedanta and Digane Sural Staff

The Digane Mine Worker’s Union has demanded that all workers re-employed at the Bicholim Vedanta Mine be made permanent employees.

Union vice president Subhash Fondekar also pressed for the regularisation of 74 workers currently employed at the Digane Sural site, stressing that contract-based arrangements leave workers insecure and vulnerable.
