Taxi fares across Goa should be uniform and transparent, with rates made available to the public through a digital platform, said MLA Michael Lobo following a joint meeting with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and representatives of taxi associations regarding the proposed digital taxi policy.
Speaking after the meeting, Lobo said that making taxi fares consistent across the state and publishing the rates online would ensure greater transparency for both residents and tourists.
He added that several taxi associations have already expressed their agreement with the proposal, which aims to streamline taxi services and improve accessibility through technology.
The discussions form part of the state government’s efforts to finalise a digital taxi policy that balances the interests of taxi operators while ensuring fair and transparent services for passengers.
