Two Held with 1.6 kg Ganja Worth ₹1.64 Lakh in Pernem Narcotics Raid

Two persons were arrested by Pernem Police after they were allegedly found in possession of over 1.6 kg of suspected ganja during a narcotics raid in Pernem.

The accused have been identified as Vinod Kumbhar (30) and Atik Malik (23), both residents of Kolhapur. Police said the duo was apprehended near Nilima Restaurant at Malpe along National Highway 66 during a targeted operation.

During the raid, officers reportedly seized 1.637 kg of suspected ganja valued at approximately ₹1.64 lakh. The contraband was allegedly concealed inside a Maruti Ertiga, along with a shoulder bag.

Police have registered a case against the accused under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985. Authorities said further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
