Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that a decision regarding the continuation of the ongoing session of the Goa Legislative Assembly will be taken later in the day after consultations with the Advocate General of Goa and the Chief Secretary of Goa.
The statement comes amid uncertainty over the proceedings of the Assembly following developments related to the Election Commission of India and the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct for the Ponda by-election.

Meanwhile, Public Works Department Minister Digambar Kamat stressed that the Assembly remains the supreme legislative body and highlighted the importance of completing the budgetary process within the stipulated timeframe.
Kamat said the state budget must be passed before March 31, 2026, underlining the need for the House to function and complete the required financial business.
