PANJIM: The Anti-Narcotic Cell of Goa Police made its first
seizure of the year when it arrested a Karnataka native at Arambol with
narcotic substances worth Rs 52,000.
The raid was conducted on Tuesday evening by the ANC team at
a beach shack in Arambol where Dayanand Thavarappa Nayak (25) was working. The
ANC team was led by ANC Police Sub Inspector Satish Padwalkar who is
investigating the case.
According to Police the raid was conducted based on reliable
information that alleged the accused used to deal narcotic substances to
tourists visiting the beach. ANC said the narcotic substance seized from Nayak
weighs 130 gms and is suspected to be charas.
ANC has arrested Nayak and an offence has been registered
under section 20(b) (ii)(B)of the NDPS Act.
