The Aam Aadmi Party has sought the removal of Raghav Chadha from his position as deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, sources said. The party has also urged that he be excluded from speaking on its behalf in the Upper House, indicating a strategic shift.
To fill the position, AAP has recommended Ashok Mittal and requested the Rajya Sabha Secretariat to expedite the process. The party currently holds 10 seats in the Upper House, with representation from both Punjab and Delhi.
Chadha has been a key figure in AAP since its inception, beginning his journey with Arvind Kejriwal during the anti-corruption movement. Over time, he rose to become a national spokesperson, treasurer, and later a Rajya Sabha MP, contributing significantly to the party’s organisational and parliamentary work.
