Bhopal Court Rejects Anticipatory Bail Plea of Lawyer in Twisha Sharma Death Case

A Bhopal court on Monday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of lawyer Samarth Singh, who has been accused of physically and mentally abusing his wife, Twisha Sharma, before her death. Sharma, a resident of Noida and a former Miss Pune winner, was recently found dead at her marital home in Bhopal under suspicious circumstances.

According to police officials, an FIR has been registered at Katara Hills police station against Singh and his mother, Giribala Singh, in connection with alleged dowry harassment and domestic abuse. Authorities stated that Samarth Singh is currently evading arrest as investigations continue.

The anticipatory bail application was heard by Additional District Sessions Judge Pallavi Dwivedi, who rejected the plea on Monday. The court order comes amid growing public attention on the case and demands for a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sharma’s death.

Twisha Sharma had married Samarth Singh nearly five months ago after the two reportedly met through a dating application. Her family has alleged that she faced continuous mental and physical harassment after marriage. They have accused the in-laws of subjecting her to domestic violence and pressuring her over dowry-related matters.

Sharma’s relatives have also demanded a second post-mortem examination, claiming they are not satisfied with the initial findings and want clarity on the exact cause of death.

The case has drawn additional attention because the accused family is reportedly well connected within legal circles. Samarth Singh practices as a lawyer in Bhopal, while his mother, Giribala Singh, is a retired judge currently serving as President of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
