Margao: Pedestrians, commuters and locals have complained about the problems faced by them due to the stray cattle menace in the jurisdiction of the Margao Municipal Council (MMC).
Citizen Jose Marie Miranda has informed that for about 2 weeks now, he has been complaining both to Chief Officer and Chairperson of MMC and his Ward Councillor Pooja Naik about the cattle around MMC and old collectorate.

“We have been living with traffic problems for ages in Margao with traffic crawling and little parking with no solution in sight. MMC has done nothing to solve it. The bigger problem in the last over a year has been that instead of repairs to damaged footpaths, they are being laced with cow dung” he complained.
He continued that several senior citizens who take a morning walk have also complained that they are unable to walk properly because of the cow dung on the footpaths.
“People find it strange that MMC cannot impound the cattle and auction it if there are no claimants.
I hope MMC will not end the council term before they can impound these cattle and eliminate the nuisance once for all”, he added.
