Weight loss is often associated with restrictive diets, expensive supplements and cutting out favourite foods. However, many nutritionists and fitness experts believe lasting results come from building healthy habits that are easy to maintain. Instagram creator Saachi Pai’s transformation is a testament to that approach.
Over a period of three years, Saachi lost an impressive 40 kilograms, reducing her weight from 99 kg to 59 kg. Instead of relying on crash diets, she focused on balanced meals that kept her full, energised and consistent throughout her journey. Recently, she shared five of her favourite meals that played a key role in helping her achieve her fitness goals.
The first meal on her list is a Palak Paneer Bowl, consisting of 200 grams of palak paneer, 150 grams of cooked rice, 100 grams of Greek yoghurt and one boiled beetroot. The meal combines protein, carbohydrates and fibre, while the yoghurt boosts protein intake and the beetroot adds fibre and natural sweetness.
Another staple in her routine was Shrimp Fried Rice with Eggs. This meal features 200 grams of shrimp fried rice paired with one whole egg, two egg whites cooked with onions and bell peppers, along with sliced cucumber. Rich in lean protein and vegetables, the dish provides a filling and nutritious option without feeling restrictive.
Saachi also enjoyed a simple Eggs, Mushrooms and Crackers meal. It includes two eggs, a mushroom stir-fry, 100 grams of Greek yoghurt, one boiled beetroot and three Wasa crackers. Packed with protein, fibre and healthy fats, the combination helps keep hunger at bay while supporting muscle recovery.
Her fourth meal is an Air-Fried Chicken Plate, featuring 100 grams of air-fried masala chicken served with 150 grams of cooked rice, 100 grams of Greek yoghurt and a fresh carrot and cucumber salad. The meal balances lean protein, carbohydrates and vegetables, making it suitable for both weight management and overall nutrition.
The final meal she highlighted is a Green Chutney Chicken Plate, made with two air-fried green chutney chicken legs, 150 grams of palak paneer, 120 grams of cooked rice and one boiled beetroot. The meal offers a mix of protein, leafy greens and controlled carbohydrate portions, helping maintain satiety without excessive calorie intake.
One of the biggest takeaways from Saachi Pai’s diet is that she did not completely eliminate rice or other foods she enjoyed. Instead, she focused on portion control, adequate protein and plenty of vegetables. Her transformation also did not happen overnight. It took three years of steady effort, proving that consistency often delivers better long-term results than extreme dieting.
While individual nutritional needs vary and weight-loss plans should ideally be tailored with guidance from a healthcare professional or registered dietitian, Saachi’s journey highlights the importance of sustainable eating habits over short-term dietary trends.
