MARGAO: In a fatal self accident, two persons travelling in a car from Curtorim to Margao were killed after the driver of car lost control and fell into a ditch near Sonsodo.
Police gave the names of deceased as Shefton Carvalho, (22) of Gudnibhat, Curtorim and Francis de Costa, (47) of Kovate, Guirdolim.
PI Gurudas Kakam of Maina Curtorim police station informed that the accident took place at around 5 pm on Sunday when the car driven by Carvalho who is suspected to be speeding went off the road trapping both the occupants who died on the spot.
Police had to take help from fire services who had to use cutters to retrieve the bodies from the mangled vehicle.
Maina Curtorim police have registered a case of unnatural dead and further investigation is in progress. The bodies have been preserved at Hospicio morgue, for post mortem to be conducted on April 1.
