MAPUSA: A Betim resident on Wednesday alleged that the sewage from five public toilets located on the bank of Mandovi River, near community hall, is released into the river.

Gisela Marchon informed that these toilets are being used by the locals on daily basis for the last one year. However, these toilets do not have a septic tank and the sewage is discharged through the pipes into the river.
Sources informed that the Health Department had issued notice to the concern person and had directed to construct septic tank.
