Damu demands vigilance inquiry on WiFi towers

MARGAO: Former Fatorda MLA Damu Naik has demanded a vigilance inquiry into Reliance Jio for allegedly violating laws while building ground-based mast towers in Goa. He has written to Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar for the same.

MARGAO: Former Fatorda MLA Damu Naik has demanded a vigilance inquiry into Reliance Jio for allegedly violating laws while building ground-based mast towers in Goa. He has written to Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar for the same.
In his letter to Parsekar, Damu pointed out that the towers had been erected on national highways, panchayat areas and municipalities with dense population without following directives.
While he focussed on the towers in Fatorda constituency, he stated that he was writing on behalf of the residents of Margao and Fatorda.
He also pointed out that NOCs had not been obtained from the South Goa Planning and Development Authority, electricity and health departments, Goa State Pollution Control Board and municipality.
Claiming that there serious illegal actions had been committed, Naik has demanded an inquiry into the financial transactions and the role of contractors and company.
