Sarmanas ferry commuters stranded

Commuters at Sarmanas-Bicholim ferry ramp were left stranded for about 30 minutes, after a log got stuck under the ferry on Monday evening.
According to reports, the incident occurred at about 6 pm when the ferry ‘M V Vagator’ was at the ramp. Some coconut leaves and a log got stuck in the lower part of the ferry. There were about four cars and several two wheelers in the ferry.
When the operators tried to move the ferry, they found that it was unable to move from the place. The crew, who soon discovered something wrong under the ferry, tried to remove the log, but could not clear the obstruction. Later, as they were unable to remove the log, it was decided to move the ferry from the place. After much effort, the crew members finally removed the log and the ferry proceeded towards Tonka-Marcel.
