PANJIM: Mercedes-Benz recorded a 60 per cent rise in sales in Goa. During April 2015 to March 2016, Mercedes-Benz has been able to roll out 13,558 vehicles on road and the demand for which is evergrowing. Young entrepreneurs and women are leading in the profile of Mercedes owners. Also, the average age of a Mercedes-Benz owner in India is recorded at 37 years as against the global age of 45.
While presenting a swanky state of the art dealers’ showroom, the Managing Director of Counto Motors, Aakash N N Khaunte said, “We are proud to be associated with an iconic global brand like Mercedes-Benz and represent them in the dynamic Goa market. Counto Motors has been the first luxury automobile dealership in Goa and our growth in this market has been as per our strategy. We have witnessed strong growth in demand for our new generation cars that accounted for more than 50% of the sales in Goa last year. This underscores the fact that many young customers are now keen on owning a Mercedes-Benz.”
Mercedes-Benz is also launching its 12 new products this year, of which, three have already been launched and has manufactured at least 10,000 cars in its Pune factory and recorded a rise of nearly 30 per cent as against last year’s statistics. This production is likely to pace-up as it is now linking its production to “make in India” concept.
