Yes. It is a matter of pride and happiness for us, Goans, that we had a charismatic leader like Dr. Jack de Sequeira, who loved all Goans and equally respected their unity and culture. His love for Goans, made him to successfully struggle to retain Goa into a separate identity, with its multiple culture and heritage.
Opinion Poll was a great war of his life, the fruits of which we, Goans, reap today and for which we are and should always be proud of him. His charismatism was also seen in maintaining the just but graceful relationship with his opponents, including that with the then Chief Minister, Dayanand Bandodkar, during the time of his political career.
The request by Teotin Pereira, in fact should be the demand, with the government for erecting his unique memorial statue, in celebrating and remembering him as “The Master of Goa’s Opinion Poll” is a justified demand and should be acted upon by the government, without any delay and without second thought, or else the government will be open for resorting to biased attitudes.
