The case surrounding the death of Twisha Sharma took a more serious turn on Wednesday after a local court in Bhopal rejected her family’s plea seeking a second autopsy.
Twisha Sharma, 33, was found hanging at her matrimonial home on May 12, just five months after marrying lawyer Samarth Singh. The incident has sparked widespread concern and allegations of abuse from her family members.
Her father, Navnidhi Sharma, alleged that his daughter had been facing multiple forms of harassment and abuse, including physical abuse, at her in-laws’ residence.
During the court proceedings, the family requested that a second post-mortem examination be conducted. However, the court declined the plea while observing that the body could be preserved anywhere within Madhya Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the police submitted a written statement before the court stating that they had no objection to conducting a second autopsy. The development has added another layer to the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Twisha Sharma’s death.
