Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh to pay homage at the Mahasamadhi of Sri Sathya Sai Baba during the spiritual leader’s birth centenary celebrations. He was accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan at Prasanthi Nilayam, where he offered prayers and released a commemorative coin along with a set of postal stamps honouring Sai Baba’s life and teachings.
The PMO said Modi would later travel to Coimbatore to inaugurate the South India Natural Farming Summit. During the event, he is scheduled to release the 21st instalment of PM-KISAN, worth more than 18,000 crore, benefiting around nine crore farmers nationwide.

Security was heightened in Puttaparthi ahead of his arrival. Modi earlier said Sai Baba’s life “remains a guiding light” and shared memories of his interactions with the spiritual figure in a post on X.
