Former Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes has officially joined the Goa Forward Party (GFP), marking a significant political shift ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Fernandes said his decision came after extensive consultations with his supporters, who encouraged him to align with the regional party.
Party sources indicate that Fernandes is likely to be GFP’s candidate from the Canacona constituency in the upcoming Assembly polls. His entry is expected to strengthen the party’s presence in South Goa as preparations for the 2027 elections gain momentum.
