U.S. State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce dismissed a question from a Pakistani journalist during a press briefing on Friday regarding the India-Pakistan border tensions that followed the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which killed more than 25 people. U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have firmly expressed their support for India and strongly condemned all forms of terrorism.
“I will not comment on this issue. I appreciate the question, and perhaps we’ll circle back to you with another topic. I have no further remarks on this situation. The President and Secretary have made their positions clear, and so has the Deputy Secretary; their stance is well articulated. I won’t engage further on such matters,” Bruce said.

She also expressed condolences, stating that the U.S. prays for those who lost their lives in the attack and wishes a swift recovery for the injured.
Addressing the Pahalgam attack, Bruce emphasized: “As President Trump and Secretary Rubio have stated, the United States stands with India and strongly condemns all acts of terrorism. We pray for the lives lost, for the recovery of the injured, and call for the perpetrators of this heinous act to be brought to justice.”
In response to the attack, President Trump called Prime Minister Narendra Modi to offer condolences, while PM Modi thanked Trump for his support and reaffirmed India’s resolve to bring the perpetrators and their backers of this “cowardly and heinous terrorist attack” to justice.
