After a tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that killed 26 people, Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar organised a candlelight march in Vasco to protest against the violence. The attack, carried out by militants linked to a Pakistan-based group, shocked the nation and is considered one of the worst since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
During the protest, people expressed their anger and sorrow, holding candles and signs while calling out against terrorism and Pakistan. Salkar delivered a speech supporting the victims’ families and said he believed Prime Minister Modi would take strong action to punish those responsible. The march ended with a moment of silence at the Hutatma Smarak, as people pledged their support for India’s fight against terrorism.
